The ultimate goal for our weblog is to take the mystique out of IT reporting for both management and compliance.
Why should ITIL metrics, SOX or Cobit controls, or plain old IT management metrics and and reporting be a mystery? Every organization should have clarity on reports and controls standards. Many of these reports and controls are federally mandated/globaly accepted best practice reports.
We believe that the stakeholders across all operational areas of the business should standardize and publish the metrics and control reports for the mutual benefit of all. Our site is intended to facilitate this discussion.
It is reasonable to believe that together we could save millions of dollars while providing required transparency for financial management and compliance as reports and controls will be used to optimize processes that are agnostic to tooling. To that end, we at Point Guard Solutions will share our IT Service Management Processes, Metrics, and Reports through our blog. The artifacts we will discuss will be uploaded in our document catalog where anyone can download them for free.
